THETIS AI seeks to tackle two of the shipping industry’s biggest challenges: excessive fuel consumption and the environmental impact of CO₂ emissions. Its solution is an AI-powered voyage optimization platform that integrates seamlessly with ships’ existing navigation and engine systems.
At the heart of the system is a plug-and-play onboard device that collects real-time vessel performance data. This data is transmitted to the cloud, where it is processed alongside high-resolution weather forecasts, AIS traffic, and port congestion insights. Using this information, THETIS AI’s algorithms generate optimized, voyage-specific sailing plans that can be applied immediately—without disrupting operations.
The result is a reduction of at least 10% in annual fuel consumption per vessel, saving shipping companies up to $1M per ship while significantly cutting emissions.
THETIS AI was founded by Roei Shaham, a former naval officer, and Ohad Levin, a Technion computer science graduate. Combining maritime operations expertise with advanced technology, they developed a practical solution that creates both economic and environmental value for global shipping.
