OVERVIEW

Ocean Spectra has developed a novel approach to processing wave data for marine infrastructure design, improving on traditional methods, which assume uniform or non-existent currents.

Their approach utilizes numerical transfer functions and shearing currents based on rotational wave theory, allowing their interpretation methodology to create a more accurate reconstruction of the wave directional spectrum. Simulations have shown that this approach is more successful and more accurate than other methods.

Ocean Spectra’s method can be used by instrument manufacturers, planning and consulting firms, environmental and coastal protection agencies, and marine engineering labs.

Ocean Spectra is headed by Dr. Yaron Toledo, a senior lecturer at Tel Aviv University. The research team is comprised of research engineers, postdoctoral researchers, and doctoral candidates.
